Online friend matches are coming soon to BonnetBall. You host a private match, invite your friends with a link or a code, and play 1v1, 2v2 or 3v3 football together, with bots in any seats you don’t fill. Full online play is coming too. There’s no release date yet, and the details here may change before it’s out.

Setting up a match

The host picks the team size, a 3:00 or 5:00 match, the bot level (PARK, CLUB or PRO) and the ground, then sends the invite. Your friends tap the link to open the lobby, or type the 6-character code into the game.

In the lobby, players can swap teams and press READY. The host kicks off when everyone’s set.

In the match

Friend matches are football with the standard rules: most goals at full time wins, and a draw goes to overtime. Bots play in any empty seats, on either team. Quick chat uses the game’s preset phrases. When the final whistle goes, REMATCH keeps everyone together for another one.

If someone leaves, a bot takes over their car and the match carries on.

Playing safely

Names in friend matches are profile names, checked by a word filter. There’s no voice chat and no typed chat, only the preset quick-chat phrases. From the lobby or the scoreboard you can report a player for an offensive name, cheating or harassment, mute their quick chat, or block them so they can’t join your matches.

Full online play is coming too

Friend matches come first, and they’re private, by invite only. After them comes full online play: public matches against other players, found by matchmaking, so you can play online without setting up a lobby.

Online matches are football from 1v1 to 3v3, so 4v4, HOMING, POWER-UPS and ICE PUCK stay offline.

Everything you can play now still works without a connection: quick matches, custom matches, the career, the ranked ladder, training and Free Play. Friend matches are the only part of the game that needs you to be online. See every mode.
